Dr. Achim Kless
Topic: Machine learning informed biomarker selection using multi-omics integration. (2:30pm – 3:30pm) Achim Kless received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Rostock in 1996. Following postdoctoral studies as a Humboldt fellow in computational chemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. He joined the department of drug discovery at Grünenthal in 1999 to design novel drugs using computational methods and machine learning. Since 2017 he was working in the department of translational science and intelligence as Scientific Director, Principal Translational Scientist leading the interdisciplinary genetics team for clinical trials using multi-omics analysis to discover novel targets and biomarkers. His current research interests are in the fields of computational biology, molecular genetics and non-coding RNA.
