Topic: The importance of data integration in Clinicial Trials; accessibility to data set for reproducibility and study expansion (2:30pm – 3:30pm) Vincent worked for 30 years for the American Pharmaceutical Company Merck & Co Inc in a variety of roles in Marketing, Research and General Management throughout Europe and North America, latterly as Managing Director MSD UK and Senior Vice President of MSD Europe. He was responsible for the launch of many new products covering an extensive number of therapeutic areas, achieving market leadership in different markets. Vincent was elected as President of the UK Industry Association (the ABPI), leading pricing negotiations with the UK Government. He represented the Industry on the Pharmaceutical Industry competitive Task force (PICTF) and co-chaired the Clinical Research in the NHS with Professor Sally Davies for a number of years. In 2006, Professor Lawton was appointed CBE for his contribution to the UK and international Pharmaceutical Industry. On stepping down from his role at Merck & Co, Professor Lawton joined the Board of the MHRA (UK Medicines and Devices regulator), a role he occupied for 7 years. He was formerly Chairman of Aqix Ltd, a medical device company, and Chief Strategy Advisor to Imperial College Department of Medicine, focussed on Diabetes research. Vincent is currently Chairman of Addex Therapeutics, a Swiss company that is a world leader of research into Allosteric Modulation for therapeutic areas including aspects of Parkinson’s Disease. He is a strategy  advisor for a number of companies.
